As a cinematographer, I feel most at home when a project takes me somewhere unexpected. Over the past few years I’ve had the opportunity to shoot in some truly remarkable places — from remote rural Australia to the crystal-clear waters of Fiji, and far offshore in open ocean. Each environment brings its own challenges, and each project asks for a different visual language. What they have in common is natural light and beautiful rugged landscapes.

Bluefin Tuna Documentary
“Life on the Line”
Life On The Line demanded an entirely different approach — filming on the water, documenting the annual Bluefin tuna migration. Shooting in open ocean environments comes with its own set of challenges: unpredictable weather, moving platforms, limited space, constantly shifting light.
But it’s also one of the most exhilarating places to work. There’s no substitute for the feeling of capturing real people doing dangerous, highly skilled work in an environment that never stops testing you. The result is a raw, immersive documentary that puts audiences right on the line with the crew.
Looking Ahead
These projects each represent a different side of what draws me to cinematography — the chance to explore, to collaborate, and to bring locations to life through texture, light, and emotional tone. Whether I’m shooting in the South Pacific, back in my hometown, or miles from shore, the location always becomes a character in the story.
